About the Farm
Marty and Pat Hanehan, with Cathy and Sherri, operate Turning Point Dairy, LLC. The farm employs 22 people, milks 900 Holstein cows and grows corn, alfalfa, and grass on 2,200 acres in 4 townships across two counties. The Hanehans built a 400-cow freestall barn in 2005 designed for climate control and featuring a fully automatic cleaning system. Two additional barns were completed in 2007 & 2012, featuring sand bedding, rubber flooring and fans for cow comfort. The Hanehan families have a combined total of seven children. They are the 5th generation to have grown up on the farm, shown animals at the County Fair, and been involved in numerous activities including 4-H, Agriculture Promotion and FFA. The Hanehans are proud to have 135 acres of their property, as well as 400 acres purchased in 2014, in a conservation easement, to help tie the land to agriculture for future generations.
