Celebrating 175 years in 2016
Saratoga County Fair is here! Come enjoy the family fun this Tuesday, July 19th - Sunday, July 24th, 2016 from 9:00AM to Midnight Daily at the Saratoga County Fairgrounds in Ballston Spa.
“What’s new at the Fair?” Well, since we have been doing this since 1841, NEW is harder and harder to come by. This year, four new entertainment acts; all with substantial TV credentials!
The Axe Women of Maine, In Capable Hands, the Eudora Petting Zoo, and the Magic of Lance Gifford all join us for our 175th anniversary celebration. Together with returning favorites the Alaskan Grizzly Experience, Dynamo Dogs, Masters of the Chainsaw, the Live Butterfly Experience, and the fastest pigs on the planet, you can ve certain that there is fun to be found every minute of the day. Check out the daily schedule page, where you will find links to the home pages of all these amazing acts.
Of course there will still be TWO nights of Professional Rodeo, TWO nights of Demo Derby, plus tractor pulls from peddle power to nitro power.
In the Live Music Pavilion, “Every night is Saturday night!”, with the best lineup of entertainment since Harrison, Tyler, and Van Buren were President of the USA (1841 was a tough year on Presidents). The Re- frigerators, Audiostars, Whiskey City, Skeeter Creek, Big Sky Country, and the North & South Dakotas bring it at night, with Rick Bolton & Friends, the Spurs USA, and Ray Murray & the Bomb Squad keeping you going all day long. Over in the conservation stage Kribs & Co. hold court daily.
Kids (of all ages) can compete in pie eating contests, donut eating contests, ice cream eating contests (brain freeze!), LEGO contests, and talent contests.
You will find daily competition in the Horse Show Ring including Open and 4-H shows, plus the monster horses that make up the 6, and this year courtesy of sponsorship by Saratoga Gaming & Raceway, 8 Horse Hitches!
Visitors to this year's Fair will get to experience the thrills of spectacular rides like the Music Express, Bonzai, and Wave Swinger. Also appearing will be a brand new Mardi Gras Glass House, guaranteed to pleasantly frustrate all who choose to enter into its mirrored maze. Parents and children alike will love the complete Kiddieland, with plenty of modern, family-friendly attractions appealing to everyone. Carnival games appealing to all ages and skill levels will line the midway.
You will also find goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, cattle, and all the fine folk who raise and care for them all over the Fairgrounds every day, a chance to ask questions, see the animals up close and personal, new stuff to try & buy, and then there is the ................food. Fair Food......
Fried, glazed, dipped, rolled, grilled, baked, toasted, twirled, skewered, smoked, salty, sweet, creamy, cold, hot, tangy, smothered in peppers and onions, topped with mustard, relish, ketchup, cheese, covered in chocolate or yogurt, and all served up with drinks in cups as big as your head........ FAIR FOOD. What else is there to say?
Please come and enjoy a day (or several) this year at the Saratoga County Fair. Bring the whole family and have Generations of FUN!
