Disability Insurance
Business and professional firms with 2-9 employees (each working over 30 hours a week) can now purchase intermediate and long-term disability at 10% discounts through a Saratoga County Chamber program.

If the employer pays the premium, all employees must participate.  If the employer and employees share the premium, minimum participation levels are required.

Both long-term and intermediate plans can pay up to 66 2/3% of salary and have 24 hour coverage on or off the job.

Intermediate coverage will pay up to two years.  For firms of six or more, maximum coverage is $3,000 a month while coverage for firms of 2-5 employees is a maximum of $1,000 a month.  There are no exclusions of coverage.

Long-term coverage will pay up to 65 years of age with a maximum of $6,000 a month.  Firms must have 80% white collar employees and must have been in business for a minimum of two years.
