2010 - 2011 Leadership Saratoga Program...

Leaders are activists and Leadership Saratoga programs promote that quality. Participants will receive exposure to critical issues affecting life in Saratoga County as well as hands-on involvement in leadership development. Class members meet the decision makers and community leaders who address not only facts, but perspectives, problems and potentials. Retreats, seminars, workshops and interactive programming comprise just a portion of the Leadership Saratoga experience.

Commitment...

True leaders are serious about their commitment - and with more candidates than positions available, your commitment as an applicant to fully participate in the program is essential. The Retreat is mandatory and will be held Sunday and Monday, September 26 & 27, 2010. Class members must attend 80% of all sessions to graduate from the program. Completion of a group project and attendance at a few board meetings outside of the scheduled sessions are also required. It is expected that graduates of the program will continue to strengthen their community involvement in Saratoga County.

Invitation

Leadership Saratoga extends an invitation to individuals committed to a better tomorrow and who are motivated to assume leadership roles in Saratoga County today. Up to twenty-four members of the community are chosen from a diverse and geographic cross-section of business, professional, educational, governmental and non-profit organizations and citizens at large.

Participant selection, which is competitive, is made by the Leadership Saratoga Advisory Board on the basis of a written application and three interviews. Applicants must set up fifteen-minute interviews with at least two Advisory Board members as well as the Program Director.

Criteria include:

  • Demonstrated sincere commitment and strong motivation to serve the community
  • Past interest and participation in community programs
  • Motivated to seek volunteer, public office, board or commission leadership roles
  • Commitment to remain active in Saratoga County

The program is sponsored by the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce however persons need not be members of the Chamber to participate.
