Human Resource Council
The Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce’s Human Resources Council is a group within the Chamber that is dedicated to providing a forum for the exchange of ideas and information relative to Human Resources and Workforce Development. The Council encourages discussion leading to better Human Resources practices and leadership, including the advancement of Human Resources Management and the professional development of those responsible for personnel administration.
The Council meets every other month to network, share best practices, and keep abreast of new laws and the latest techniques. If you are an HR professional, you know that issues run the gamut from compensation and payroll functions, legal issues, benefits, safety, health, communications, recruiting and retention, labor relations, employee development and event planning, to name a few.
In 2011, the Chamber’s HR Council organized/facilitated its’ first in a series of educational seminars on pertinent HR issues and invited fellow Chamber members to attend. The idea being that many small business owners act as their company’s “HR” department and so they too could benefit from learning these skills and getting updated HR information and resources.
Moving forward, the HR Council is committed to providing four such seminars a year that will give fellow members some insight on these very important issues.
