 Fall, Farm and Family Fun in Saratoga, New York
 
Saratoga County is rich in agriculture, festivals and foliage fun making it the perfect getaway this Fall.  
 
Visitors can “Get Lost” at Schuyler Farms in their "Fun on the Farm" corn maze.  Schuyler Farms also has a Corn Field Café, pumpkin patch, hayrides, giant super slide, animals and more. The Farm is Open Friday through Sunday in September and October, with flashlight nights on Saturdays in September and Haunted Maze Nights on Fridays and Saturdays in October.  For more information, call 518-695-5308 or go online to http://www.schuylerfarms.com.
 
Visitors to Saratoga can also enjoy a welcoming farm environment with Ellms Family Farm and their 2008 Amazing Maize Maze, which explores the Solar System.  Ellms Family Farm also has a kiddie corn maze, pumpkin patch, trolley and hay rides, jumping pillow, fresh cider donuts, farmer’s market, the Moo Moo Choo Choo and so much more. Open Friday through Sunday, beginning September 26th, 2008, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Fridays and 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with special Moonlight Maze nights. Admission varies with age and activity. For complete details, go online to http://www.ellmsfarms.com or call 518-884-8168.
 
The 9th Annual Saratoga County Fiber Tour showcases several “Pride of New York” fiber producing farms. Highlights include the animals that make it all possible; sheep, alpaca, llama, plus hand-woven and hand-dyed yarn, jewelry and so much more. This is a self-driving tour on Columbus Day weekend, October 11th and 12th, 2008 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, call 518-885-8995 or 518-587-5140 and visit http://www.saratogafarms.com.
 
Saratoga’s 6th Annual Fall Festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, October 25th and 26th, 2008 in Downtown Saratoga Springs. There will be music, games, animals, pumpkin decorating, pony rides, magic and more for kids of all ages. This event is free and open to the public from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. For more details and further information, call 518-368-1860 or go online to http://www.saratogadowntown.com.
 
Visitors will find that there is nothing like being in the crisp Autumn air, wandering through the orchards and picking apples. Saratoga has a number of local farms and orchards that visitors can “pick their own” or “pick from the bin” apples of assorted variety.

Saratoga Apple has a variety of apples to choose from with a wagon & tractor ride to the orchards for visitors to pick their own. Fresh cider donuts and baked goods, plus a small country store with cider, pumpkins, gourds, specialty products and more. Saratoga Apple is located on Route 29 just west of Schuylerville and can be reached at 518-695-3131.
 
Riverview Orchard located in Southern Saratoga County has a number of apples to choose from and plenty of “pick your own apples” after a fun hayride to the orchards. Visitors will also find the honey house, donut robot and bakery with fresh breads, cookies, pies and more. Visitors can also make reservations for a night-owl hayride with fresh cider and a bonfire. Open seven days a week from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through November. For more information, go online to http://www.rivervieworchards.com or call 518-371-2174.
