Rachel VanSlyke & Friends
Rachel’s songs emotionally resonate with fans across the spectrum based upon their edgy intensity and genuine intimacy, with a new American alternative folk sound. She is a Saratoga Springs native! In the summer of 2007 she recorded her debut album, “So I Begin” at Stanley Recording Studios in Santa Monica, CA. In the spring of 2008, this adventurous music maker set out on a 26 plus-city tour sprawling 4,100 miles from South Florida to Canada on a bicycle. Many of the shows involved raising awareness and funds for local community bike co-ops and community centers. This pedal powered treck was both to promote the new album, and raise awareness on sustainability and environmental issues. VanSlyke now resides in Nashville TN, where she is pursuing writing and performing opportunities.
