Get Your Groove On at These Summer Concert Series

Live music concerts are one of the highlights of summer, and there are several excellent concert series to choose from in the Saratoga area. Check out some of the following concert series in Saratoga County. Talented performers cover a range of music genres, from classic country to modern jazz, and everything in between.

Summer Concert Series
in Congress Park

Congress Park fills with the sounds of vibrant jazz, classic rock, modern country, and more every Sunday evening in July and each Tuesday evening in August. These free concerts are 7pm to 8:30pm at the War Memorial across from the Canfield Casino, with a rain location at the Saratoga Heritage Area Visitor Center.

Cryin’ Out Loud, Garland Nelson, Skippy and the Pistons, and The Road Kings Band are some of the groups who have taken the stage at this prime Saratoga park.

SPAC's Summer Concert Series

Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) hosts a diverse lineup of performers at their acclaimed amphitheater nestled in picturesque Saratoga Spa State Park. They offer a wide variety of musical genres, including Live Nation Concerts, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Live at the Jazz Bar, and SPAC on Stage. The Live Nation Concert series draws top mainstream entertainers, and both the Dave Matthews Band and Zac Brown Band typically perform each year. SPAC also hosts the New York City Ballet and an annual Jazz Festival.

This unique venue allows guests to choose between sheltered seats and a sloping lawn - either way, you’re sure to be in for an incredible experience.

Tang Museum

The Tang Teaching Museum at Skidmore College puts on a free, varied concert series on their rooftop deck from early July through August. Guests can count on a diverse lineup of talented musicians, such as Nu-Note (R&B and bossa nova), Decoda (classical), and Annie and the Hedonists (vintage blues and jazz).

Concerts are held inside the museum during inclement weather.

Malta Summer Concert

The Malta Summer Concert Series on the front lawn of the Malta Community Center happens on Wednesdays in July from 6 pm to 8 pm. Guests will enjoy free performances centering around anything from hip hop to bluegrass, folk to soul and rock, with groups like The McKrells, Big Medicine, and Sirsy.

The rain location is in the community center’s auditorium.

Ballston Spa Concerts
in the Park

Ballston Spa Concerts in the Park is a free music series in Wiswall Park that attracts hundreds of visitors to this charming Village. Their season runs on Thursdays from late June through August from 6 - 8 pm, and includes an annual Ice Cream Social in early August.

Bluegrass bands like The North & South Dakotas and the Bluebillies have performed at the gazebo, and concerts are free and family-friendly.

South Glens Falls Summer Concert Series

The South Glens Falls Chamber of Commerce hosts this free concert series on Tuesdays from late June through mid-August. Performances take place in the South Glens Falls Historical Park, and they encourage guests to bring their own lawn chairs. They’ve welcomed groups like Master Cylinders, Bobby Dick, and Country Express.

Open Door Mission of Glens Falls offers refreshments, with all proceeds going towards the nonprofit.

Caffe Lena Music Series at Pitney Meadows Community Farm

Caffe Lena, an iconic intimate performance space, hosts free concerts at Pitney Meadows Farm on Sundays throughout June and July. The music explores a variety of genres developed from the “roots and branches of American folk music.” Performances take place under the pergola in Pitney Meadows’ Community Gardens.

In the case of inclement weather, shows are moved into the high hoop house.

Performing Arts at the Common

Performing Arts at the Common of Clifton Park doesn’t just include live music, but musicals, magicians, and other types of free performances as well. Musicians and live performers take the stage on Sunday evenings, while events for kids happen on Wednesdays. The series runs during July and August.

Big Sky Country, The Zucchini Brothers, and Moriah Formica have performed at the Common. Kids shows have included productions from The Puppet People and The Mother Goose Jazz Band.


Opera Saratoga

Opera Saratoga takes place at the Spa Little Theater in Saratoga Spa State Park. They feature exciting operas each summer and have programs and activities throughout the year. Opera Saratoga has performed over 90 different full-staged works by over 50 composers. They highlight both renowned pieces and new works.

Music, Theater & Performing Arts at Round Lake Auditorium

The Round Lake Auditorium is a hidden gem in this small Village, and they host music concerts, organ concerts, youth theater programs, comedy, and other performances each summer. The shows take place in the 400-seat auditorium, and concerts can include anything from blues to folk to jazz and beyond.
